Today your Egypt adventure takes a dramatic turn as you travel south to Aswan, one of the most beautiful and serene cities along the Nile River. After an early morning transfer to Cairo Airport, your short domestic flight brings you to Upper Egypt, where ancient Nubian culture and timeless landscapes await. Upon arrival in Aswan, you'll be met by your guide and transferred in a private, air-conditioned vehicle for an afternoon of remarkable sightseeing. Your first visit is the stunning Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and situated on a scenic island in the middle of the Nile. One of Egypt's most romantic ancient sites, Philae was famously relocated during the 1970s as part of a UNESCO-led rescue operation to save it from rising floodwaters, a feat of international cooperation as impressive as the temple itself. Next, visit the legendary Unfinished Obelisk, still lying in its granite quarry where it was abandoned thousands of years ago. This remarkable archaeological site offers a rare glimpse into the ancient Egyptian stone-carving process, revealing techniques that made their towering monuments possible. As the afternoon sun softens over the Nile, you'll transfer to your Aswan hotel for a relaxed and well-deserved evening. Aswan's peaceful atmosphere, so different from bustling Cairo, is one of Egypt's most treasured travel experiences. Overnight: Nubian Guest House Meals: Breakfast
Today, you'll experience one of the ancient world's most breathtaking spectacles. After an early breakfast, join your small group and travel by modern, air-conditioned coach through the Southern Egyptian desert to reach this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site. The twin temples of Abu Simbel were commissioned by Ramses II over 3,000 years ago and are dedicated to powerful deities including Amun-Re and Hathor. What makes them even more remarkable is their modern story: in the 1960s, these colossal rock-cut temples were meticulously dismantled and relocated, block by block, by an international UNESCO task force to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Standing before the four towering statues of Ramses II at the entrance, you'll understand why this site is considered one of Egypt's greatest wonders. After the visit, return to Aswan and prepare for the next unforgettable chapter of your journey, embarkation on your Nile River cruise. Board your elegant cruise ship, settle into your cabin, and enjoy a delicious dinner on board as you watch the golden Nile drift past your window. The gentle rhythm of the river, the warm Egyptian air, and the sense of history surrounding you make this evening truly magical. Overnight: On board Nile Cruise Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Wake up to the peaceful sound of the Nile as your cruise glides through one of the most scenic stretches of the river. After a leisurely breakfast on board, the morning offers a wonderful optional excursion: a motorboat trip to a traditional Nubian Village. This enriching cultural experience takes you into the heart of Nubian life, vibrant homes painted in bold colors, warm-hearted local families, and centuries-old traditions that have endured along the Nile for generations. It's a side of Egypt that many visitors never discover. Whether you join the excursion or choose to relax on deck and soak in the stunning river scenery, the morning passes in blissful tranquility. In the afternoon, your Nile cruise arrives at Kom Ombo, home to one of Egypt's most unusual ancient temples. The Kom Ombo Temple is uniquely dedicated to two gods simultaneously, Sobek, the fearsome crocodile-headed god of the Nile, and Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed sky god. Its perfectly symmetrical layout, detailed wall carvings, and riverside setting make it a photographer's dream and a historian's treasure. The on-site Crocodile Museum adds further context to this fascinating dual-worship sanctuary. After exploring the temple with your guide, return to the ship for dinner as you continue sailing toward Edfu. Overnight: On board Nile Cruise Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today is one of the most monument-rich days of your entire Nile cruise itinerary, a journey through ancient Egyptian religion and royal power. After breakfast on board, your first stop is the magnificent Temple of Horus at Edfu, widely regarded as the best-preserved ancient temple in all of Egypt. Built during the Ptolemaic period, this awe-inspiring sandstone complex is a testament to the devotion of ancient Egyptians and the enduring power of their mythology. Your Egyptologist guide will help you decode the intricate hieroglyphic reliefs lining every wall. Return to the ship and enjoy lunch as your cruise navigates the iconic Esna Lock, a fascinating engineering spectacle where boats are raised or lowered between different water levels along the Nile. It's a unique experience that connects the ancient river with the modern world. Arriving in Luxor, often called the world's greatest open-air museum, you'll explore two of Egypt's most celebrated temples. The sprawling Karnak Temple Complex, an extraordinary city of sacred structures built over 2,000 years, is among the largest religious sites ever constructed. As evening falls, the elegant Luxor Temple glows under dramatic floodlights, a truly unforgettable sight. Return to your cruise for dinner and a comfortable overnight mooring in Luxor. Trip Information & Guidelines

While our group tours are a great way to travel, most can also be booked privately for a more exclusive experience. Private tours offer greater flexibility, allowing you to customise the itinerary, accommodation, and pace to suit your preferences. They can run on the same dates as group tours or on alternative dates, though some activities may be limited to specific days.

Pricing depends on group size and any customisation. For a fully personalised experience, our team can design a tailor-made tour based on your interests and requirements.

Most sightseeing on a Nile cruise is included and is a highlight of the trip, with tours conducted by air-conditioned minibuses or coaches from the boat. Itineraries may change based on local conditions, and some sailing can occur at night. Special Gala Dinners are typically held on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and their cost is usually compulsory and included in group tour prices, or added to private and tailor-made tours.

This cruise runs on limited dates and is subject to availability and vessel operation. Please confirm availability with us before booking international flights.
Shorter itineraries are available on request on alternate dates (12-day Cairo–Luxor, 13-day Aswan–Cairo, 10-day Luxor–Cairo)

Our small group tours typically use high-quality 5-star hotels in Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, and Hurghada, with pools and dining options. Budget tours may use comfortable 3–4 star hotels, all with air-conditioned en-suite rooms. Some itineraries also feature charming Nubian-style hotels in Aswan.

Private and tailor-made tours offer a wider range, from mid-range 3–4 star hotels to luxury 5-star properties. Nile cruises usually operate on Egyptian 5-star boats (comparable to international 4-star standards), with deluxe, all-suite boats and Dahabiyas available for private tours.

Accommodation is in air-conditioned twin, double, or triple en-suite rooms or cabins.

Gala Dinners: Many hotels and cruise boats host special dinners on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. These may be optional or compulsory (especially on New Year’s Eve), with prices ranging from USD 50–150+. These are not included in tour prices and may be added if required.

Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after your departure—please avoid travelling with a nearly full or expiring passport. Visa requirements are the traveller’s responsibility and may change, so check with your local Egyptian embassy or consulate before.

Although official advice recommends obtaining a visa in advance (via the official e-visa site), many nationalities can get a visa on arrival at Cairo Airport. This is a quick process, costs USD 30, and must be paid in cash (USD, GBP, or EUR). No forms or photos are required, and our representative will assist you on arrival.

Important Notes:

  • Canadian citizens must obtain a visa in advance.
  • African, Indian, and some other nationalities also need to arrange visas before travel.

For the latest requirements, please contact us or your nearest Egyptian embassy.

Bring any standard luggage (suitcase, backpack, or holdall), plus a small day bag. Your main luggage is usually left at the hotel during sightseeing, with porters available to assist. While there’s no tour luggage limit, airlines typically allow 20–25kg for checked bags and 5–10kg for hand luggage—please confirm with your airline.

Clothing: Egypt is generally hot, but evenings—especially in the desert—can be cool, so pack layers. Casual wear is fine; formal clothing is not required. Modest, loose-fitting clothes are recommended, particularly for women. In central Cairo and at mosques, arms and legs should be covered. Long sleeves are also useful for mosquito protection, especially on felucca trips.

Other Essentials: Consider bringing a light sleeping sheet (or a sleeping bag in winter for felucca trips), along with a sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, basic first aid kit, toiletries, small towel, money belt, torch, camera, and charger.
