Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, our experienced team meets you at the terminal to assist with your Egypt visa on arrival, luggage, and a private airport transfer to your hotel. Today is yours to recover from the journey and begin soaking in Cairo's legendary energy. Early arrivals can make the most of the afternoon with an optional Pyramids of Giza Sound and Light Show — a spectacular after-dark spectacle where ancient myths are projected onto the Great Pyramid and Sphinx. Overnight: Cairo Hotel
Begin your Nubian Adventure at the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, a 500-foot engineering marvel built from millions of limestone blocks, alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Limited tickets allow visitors to enter inside the Great Pyramid for an extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime experience. Next, explore the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) near Giza, home to one of the world's largest collections of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the breathtaking Tutankhamun exhibit. Your expert Egyptologist guide brings each relic to life with fascinating historical context. Between visits, enjoy one of two iconic Egyptian dishes. Koshary is Egypt's beloved street-food classic, a hearty, satisfying combination of rice, lentils, pasta, chickpeas, and tangy tomato sauce crowned with crispy fried onions. Alternatively, indulge in traditional Fatta, a rich, festive Egyptian dish layered with slow-cooked tender lamb or beef, fragrant saffron rice, toasted flatbread, and a deeply flavored garlic-vinegar tomato broth poured generously over the top. Fatta is comfort food at its finest, deeply rooted in Egyptian culinary tradition and utterly unforgettable. As evening falls, transfer to Cairo station for your overnight sleeper train to Aswan, complete with a twin-berth cabin, onboard dinner, and breakfast. Overnight: On board Sleeper Train Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Arrive in Aswan, Upper Egypt's most enchanting city, perched on the banks of the Nile where ancient Nubian civilisation has flourished for thousands of years. After disembarking, transfer to your charming Nubian-style hotel, set within a traditional village of vividly painted houses adorned with symbolic patterns. First, board a scenic boat to Philae Temple, a stunning island sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis. Remarkably rescued and relocated stone by stone to preserve it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, Philae is a UNESCO-listed triumph of heritage conservation and one of Egypt's most photogenic ancient sites. In the afternoon, journey south of Aswan to immerse yourself in authentic Nubian culture. Walk through a living Nubian village, visit local family homes, explore traditional markets filled with handcrafted souvenirs and spices, and share a home-cooked Nubian dinner with a local family, an intimate, unforgettable cultural exchange. Overnight: Nubian Guest House Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Rise early for an optional excursion to Abu Simbel, one of Egypt's most iconic and awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Carved into the mountainside by Ramses II, these two colossal temples, adorned with towering statues and breathtaking reliefs, represent the absolute pinnacle of ancient Egyptian power and artistry. At midday, embark on one of Egypt's most magical experiences: a traditional felucca sailing trip on the River Nile. Glide along the legendary waterway aboard a classic wooden sailboat, expertly navigated by our Nubian crew, as verdant riverbanks and timeless rural scenes drift past. Your crew will prepare onboard meals and share local stories throughout the journey. A dedicated facilities boat travels alongside, providing comfortable toilets, showers, and a hygienic kitchen. As night falls, moor along the Nile's bank for a crew-cooked dinner beneath a canopy of stars, sleeping on deck with mattresses, blankets, and mosquito nets provided. A hotel upgrade in Aswan is available for those who prefer conventional accommodation. Overnight: On board Felucca Sailboat Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast aboard the felucca, bid farewell to your Nubian crew and head north by road toward Edfu, home to the magnificent Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in all of Egypt. Dedicated to the falcon-headed sky god, this grand structure's towering pylons, atmospheric hypostyle halls, and intricate carvings offer an extraordinary window into ancient Egyptian religious life. Continue north to Luxor, once the ancient city of Thebes and now regarded as the world's greatest open-air museum. Straddling the Nile, Luxor is divided into the vibrant East Bank, buzzing with modern life, and the legendary West Bank, a vast necropolis of royal tombs and mortuary temples. This evening brings a uniquely magical experience: a guided nocturnal tour of Luxor Temple. Floodlit against the night sky, this ancient monument at the heart of the modern city glows with golden splendour. Your Egyptologist guide reveals centuries of hidden history beneath the stars. Overnight: Luxor Hotel Breakfast
Begin on the West Bank at the legendary Valley of the Kings, a vast royal necropolis where Egypt's most powerful pharaohs were buried in elaborate, richly decorated underground tombs. Step inside several tombs and marvel at extraordinarily preserved hieroglyphs and painted chambers that have endured for over three millennia. Cross back to the East Bank for a guided tour of Karnak Temple, an immense complex dedicated to the Theban Triad, featuring towering columns, vast courtyards, and 2,000 years of layered history. Rise early for an optional hot air balloon ride over Luxor (available only in Luxor city in Egypt) an extraordinary sunrise experience drifting silently above ancient temples, lush sugar cane fields, and the timeless Nile Valley. It's one of the most memorable things to do in Egypt. Overnight: Luxor Hotel Meals: Breakfast
Begin your final Luxor morning with one of the most exhilarating ways to experience the legendary river, a kayaking adventure on the Nile. Paddle through calm, crystal-clear waters as the golden Luxor landscape unfolds around you, with ancient temple silhouettes rising from the riverbanks and traditional feluccas drifting gracefully past. This guided Nile kayaking experience is suitable for all fitness levels and offers a uniquely intimate perspective of the river that most travellers never discover. After returning from the water, the rest of the morning is free to explore Luxor's vibrant bazaars, browse handcrafted souvenirs, or revisit a favourite ancient site at your own pace. For those craving more history, an optional full-day excursion visits the ancient temples of Abydos and Dendera. Abydos, one of Egypt's oldest sacred sites, features stunning chapels dedicated to the god Osiris, while the Temple of Hathor at Dendera dazzles with its rare astronomical ceiling and remarkably vivid original colours. Alternatively, the Mummification Museum in Luxor offers a fascinating deep-dive into ancient Egyptian burial practices. As evening arrives, transfer to Luxor station and board your overnight sleeper train back to Cairo, complete with a comfortable twin-berth cabin and onboard dinner, the perfect close to your Upper Egypt chapter. Overnight: On board Sleeper Train Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Arrive back in Cairo this morning and transfer to your hotel. The day is free to explore at your own pace, with a range of optional tours to choose from. The popular Cairo city tour visits Coptic Cairo, one of Egypt's oldest Christian communities, plus the imposing medieval Citadel of Saladin and the breathtaking Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Alternatively, history enthusiasts can join a half-day excursion to Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis to trace the fascinating evolution of pyramid architecture from the Step Pyramid of Djoser to Sneferu's Bent and Red Pyramids. For something truly extraordinary, a full-day trip ventures into the Western Desert to the Wadi Al-Hitan (Valley of the Whales), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's most remarkable palaeontological discoveries. In the afternoon, explore Khan el-Khalili bazaar on a guided walking tour through the ancient alleyways of Islamic Cairo, with time for mint tea, and a dinner of Kushari, Egypt's ultimate street food. Overnight: Cairo Hotel Meals: Breakfast
Your final morning in Egypt is free for any last-minute sightseeing, souvenir shopping, or a quiet breakfast by the Nile before the journey home. Cairo's city centre offers countless spots for picking up authentic Egyptian gifts — from hand-painted papyrus and gold cartouche jewellery to hand-woven textiles and aromatic spice blends. When the time comes, your private airport transfer whisks you comfortably to Cairo International Airport for your departure flight. If you'd like to extend your Egypt experience, a post-tour extra night in Cairo hotel is available to book, allowing you to spend more time in this extraordinary city without the rush. Trip Information & Guidelines

While our group tours are a great way to travel, most can also be booked privately for a more exclusive experience. Private tours offer greater flexibility, allowing you to customise the itinerary, accommodation, and pace to suit your preferences. They can run on the same dates as group tours or on alternative dates, though some activities may be limited to specific days.

Pricing depends on group size and any customisation. For a fully personalised experience, our team can design a tailor-made tour based on your interests and requirements.

Most sightseeing on a Nile cruise is included and is a highlight of the trip, with tours conducted by air-conditioned minibuses or coaches from the boat. Itineraries may change based on local conditions, and some sailing can occur at night. Special Gala Dinners are typically held on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and their cost is usually compulsory and included in group tour prices, or added to private and tailor-made tours.

This cruise runs on limited dates and is subject to availability and vessel operation. Please confirm availability with us before booking international flights.
Shorter itineraries are available on request on alternate dates (12-day Cairo–Luxor, 13-day Aswan–Cairo, 10-day Luxor–Cairo)

Our small group tours typically use high-quality 5-star hotels in Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, and Hurghada, with pools and dining options. Budget tours may use comfortable 3–4 star hotels, all with air-conditioned en-suite rooms. Some itineraries also feature charming Nubian-style hotels in Aswan.

Private and tailor-made tours offer a wider range, from mid-range 3–4 star hotels to luxury 5-star properties. Nile cruises usually operate on Egyptian 5-star boats (comparable to international 4-star standards), with deluxe, all-suite boats and Dahabiyas available for private tours.

Accommodation is in air-conditioned twin, double, or triple en-suite rooms or cabins.

Gala Dinners: Many hotels and cruise boats host special dinners on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. These may be optional or compulsory (especially on New Year’s Eve), with prices ranging from USD 50–150+. These are not included in tour prices and may be added if required.

Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after your departure—please avoid travelling with a nearly full or expiring passport. Visa requirements are the traveller’s responsibility and may change, so check with your local Egyptian embassy or consulate before.

Although official advice recommends obtaining a visa in advance (via the official e-visa site), many nationalities can get a visa on arrival at Cairo Airport. This is a quick process, costs USD 30, and must be paid in cash (USD, GBP, or EUR). No forms or photos are required, and our representative will assist you on arrival.

Important Notes:

  • Canadian citizens must obtain a visa in advance.
  • African, Indian, and some other nationalities also need to arrange visas before travel.

For the latest requirements, please contact us or your nearest Egyptian embassy.

Bring any standard luggage (suitcase, backpack, or holdall), plus a small day bag. Your main luggage is usually left at the hotel during sightseeing, with porters available to assist. While there’s no tour luggage limit, airlines typically allow 20–25kg for checked bags and 5–10kg for hand luggage—please confirm with your airline.

Clothing: Egypt is generally hot, but evenings—especially in the desert—can be cool, so pack layers. Casual wear is fine; formal clothing is not required. Modest, loose-fitting clothes are recommended, particularly for women. In central Cairo and at mosques, arms and legs should be covered. Long sleeves are also useful for mosquito protection, especially on felucca trips.

Other Essentials: Consider bringing a light sleeping sheet (or a sleeping bag in winter for felucca trips), along with a sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, basic first aid kit, toiletries, small towel, money belt, torch, camera, and charger.
